Disco H2O

Location: Wet n' Wild - Orlando, FL

Techni-lux's extensive themed attraction design experience was called into play for a very unique attraction that was developed for Wet n' Wild Orlando. Disco H2O is the worlds first float-thru disco. Several design issues had to be addressed including product utilization in a wet hostile enviroment, lack of maintenance, accessibility, and power consumption. Over 130 Pulsar LED products were utilized for their ability to fit all requirements. Although a dealer provided all installation, Techni-Lux provided the programming. A series of ten different sequences are randomly selected every 30 seconds, some of these are also audio driven with a link to the sound system. ShowCad Artist was selected as the PC based controller best suited for this application. In order to help the client and design team better realize the scope and importance of lighting on the overall attraction, Render Blender created several static renderings and even a full ride through animation complete with people. Thus far the audience reactions have been phenomenal with this quickly becoming the star attraction. Whoever said disco is dead has not been to Wet n' Wild Orlando.

U. S. Grant Hotel

Location: San Diego, CA

The U. S. Grant hotel, originally built by the son of President Ulysses S. Grant to honor the memory of his father, recently underwent major renovations inside and out--including new architectural lighting. The SGM Palco 3 and Pulsar ChromaBatten fixtures were used to accomodate the different angle and throw distance requirements in order to give the building a more sculpted feel while providing a long term low maintenance lighting solution. Control is provided by the ShowCad Artist PC-based system.

Forestville Baptist Church

Location: Greenville, SC

Forestville Baptist Church contacted Techni-Lux Design Services when they started planning construction for their new sanctuary. A lighting system was designed to meet all of the church's needs without being needlessly flashy or obtrusive in the room. Special care was taken to work with the architects and contractors to ensure proper support for the system was put in place during construction, and custom power distros and rigging were designed and ordered to make installation and maintenance of the system as easy as possible. Additionally, Techni-Lux staff were on site to supervise fixture placement and provide training for the facility staff in operation of the console and basic design concepts.

Jungle Boogie

Location: Chula Vista Resort, Wisconsin Dells, WI

This water ride is part of a newly opened indoor facility that encompasses over 60,000 square feet of watery fun that is heated so it can be enjoyed year-round. The bowl part of the ride also uses the Pulsar LED fixtures used by Wet 'n Wild to maintain safety in such a wet corrosive environment, but this is the first slide we know of that allows the rider to choose his experience. The Techni-Lux staff built and programmed an interface system that allows the riders to choose from 3 different themes of lighting and music. Several versions of each theme are used to insure a new experience every time. Techni-Lux also consulted on other attractions in the facility, including an enclosed slide with a fiber optic trail of light above you throughout the ride.

Der Flyvende Kuffert (The Flying Trunk)

Techni-Lux Design was recently asked by Sally Corp of Jacksonville, FL to work with the world's first theme park on an attraction re-hab honoring Denmark's native son, Hans Christian Andersen. The Flying Trunk dark ride was in need of a modern lighting system and a new look, Techni-Lux designed a system that was installed and programmed during a spring maintenance cycle and was able to re-open with the parks festival celebrating H.C.A.'s 200th birthday. The opportunity to work on this world renowned attraction was truly an honor and privilege.
